High harmonic generation (HHG) probes of molecular dynamics
|
We plan to pursue this study in two directions:
1. Applying high harmonic generation and strong field ionization
probe to monitoring the details of coupled electronic and nuclear dynamics. The study will focus on visualizing ultrafast
(femtosecond) electron rearrangement during a curve crossing /conical intersection, where Oppenheimer-Born approximation breaks down.
2. Using high harmonic generation to study the attosecond electronic dynamics of the ions (electron hole) while the electron is away in the continuum.
